Team Work at Reso: An Introduction By Muhammad Ali (HRD)

Introduction

There were plenty of overs left, however, players were not. The last match of the recent ODI series between Pakistan and India was pretty one sided. In reply of 303 runs from Pakistan, Indians were booked for mere 144. After loosing two matches in a row Pakistanis won the six match series 4-2. You might have heard that the reason for Pakistan’s triumph was team effort. What actually this team is? And it can do wonders to motivate a relatively inexperienced side of Pakistanis to crush an allegedly better side. First we will see the definition of Team.

Team

“A small number of individuals with complementary skills who are committed to a common goal for which they hold themselves collectively accountable.”
Following are some points regarding the importance of teams in any Organization.

The Need for Teams

1. Teams are more flexible than larger organizational groupings because they can be more quickly assembled, deployed, refocused, and disbanded.
2. Every effort of every person in the company is focused on satisfying customers’ needs. Customer service? It’s not somebody’s job. It’s everybody’s job.
3. Teams motivate, challenge, reward, and support individuals who are trying to change the way they do things.

Team’s Grooming

Once the idea is born and everyone is on the board then Learning Groups will be formed and the voyage towards real team begins.
